Hey there, and welcome back!
I have been getting back to writing lately. I haven’t been tracking my wordcount which is a new thing. I have just been letting myself be creative and write when I feel like it. When I am not writing, or my baby is needing extra attention and cuddles, I am reading my writing and editing.
This past year when I took a break from writing to focus on pregnancy, and my baby was wonderful for my family. It gave me the opportunity to adjust a shift my focus to where it needed to be after struggling with infertility for eight years.
Now that I am back, I am feeling a lot more like myself. PPD hit me pretty hard when my daughter hit three months old, and it has been hard dragging myself out of it. Getting back into writing has helped my mental health tremendously as it’s something that I LOVE! I am also making it a point this year to read more, and actually finish the books I start! I managed to read 3 books last year when I used to be able to read 3 books in a couple weeks.
This year is all about being creative again, and shifting my focus.
So I am dedicating part of my blog to excerpts of my writing. I think it will be a fun way to keep me motivated, share some of my writing with you guys, and get some feedback.
So, please, if you grace upon any of it, let me know what you think!! But also keep in mind anything I am sharing is unpublishing, rough, first draft work. So there will likely be errors! I am not looking for editing feedback, but more so feedback on the feel, characters, story, mood, etc. Tell me what it makes you feel! Anyone can fix a comma, or typo. I want to focus on how my writing can transform your mind, or transport you into the story.
I am beyond nervous to share my writing on a public space, but I feel this is the best way to start. I am contemplating also sharing it on my instagram as well. Just little blurbs here and there.
Thanks for reading my mini-update. I am really looking forward to getting into it more with y’all here.
xoxo
